Book Review

I had the pleasure of reading this book last summer after hearing about it online. Let me just say it made me cryyy. This book features a real story of a neurosurgeon who is in his last year of residency when he is diagnosed with cancer. He shares his journey as he faces the new uncertainty of his future. The one he had worked so incredibly hard for. In the book, he attempts to figure out how he wants to live his life and the legacy he wants to leave behind. As someone going into healthcare, I believe this is a must-read. As healthcare providers, the day-to-day becomes normal, and you start to become desensitized. However, this book truly makes you feel as if you're in the patient's shoes and the quiet feelings they may feel when diagnosed with a terminal illness. It made me reflect heavily on what my passions are outside the confines of work and societal pressure. 100% recommend!!
